Pirate's Cove is a pirate-themed game.
There are six islands that players can select to move to. Each island offers upgrades. A pirate travels to successive islands each turn, and the game ends when twelve turns have been played.
Each player controls a pirate ship that has the following stats: sails determine battle turn order, cannons and crew that are paired up to attack other ships, and hull that determines how many treasure chests the ship can hold.
During each turn, treasure is revealed at each island. Treasure is a mix of fame points, gold coins, treasure chests and tavern cards. Players choose their destination. Players simultaneously move to their destinations, fight the pirate and each other if they're on the same island. Battles are resolved by rolling a die for each cannon/crew pair on the ship. The last remaining pirate collects the booty on the island and chooses to take advantage of upgrades on the island.
The object of the game is to collect fame points, which can be got from treasure cards, tavern cards, and by converting treasure chests and gold.
The game is fairly light and quick with the pirate theme driving the fun.
